Mission Statement
The Marin Bonsai Club is an organization dedicated to promoting the ancient art of bonsai (Japanese for tree in a pot). We strive to create interest and inspire participation by both advanced and beginner artists of bonsai and to increase its enjoyment. In bonsai, our ultimate goal is to create an image of an ancient tree of the forest, in miniature.

We also supply and coordinate information on bonsai. This is done through demonstrations of visiting bonsai artists at our monthly meetings and workshops, and through our annual shows.

History Of The Club
In 1958, the Marin Bonsai Club was founded by K.C. Stewart of Mill Valley, a small town just north of San Francisco, California. Other officers were T. Hinds, Mrs. Ava Olds, and Mrs. Martha Orson. The Marin Bonsai Club is a non-profit organization, and its goal is "to integrate both art and horticulture toward the final product, the small tree or plant in its full and lasting beauty." Presently, the Club has about 70 active members.
